Litter Plans for Winter 2023-2024

We’ve been breeding dogs for about 5 years now and have come to the point where our year has two predictable seasons for producing litters. The summer season usually begins in May and ends around August. Then we get a lovely break until it’s time for new litters late in the fall until February or so. This ebb and flow of busy and quiet seasons has become one of our favorite parts of being in this business. During the time that we have puppies on the ground, our days are extremely full, but a lot of fun! Then, it’s nice to take a breath, take inventory, and take time to evaluate how we’re doing and what we want to improve. The off seasons give us time to clean and reset the puppy areas. They give us a chance to spoil our dogs a little more.

Since the Authors and Office litters have all found homes and are (mostly) all settled in their new homes, we are now in an “off-season” time and looking forward to the future and upcoming litters. As I’ve dreamed and planned for the next 6 months, I thought it would be fun to share those plans with you.

Of course, we have a limited amount of control over planned and expected litters as nature could have its own ideas of what happens.

Minka & Winston

Sadly, we missed Minka’s last heat but we’re trying again because this pairing was amazing last time! Minka’s last litter was the Pastry Litter and they had all the amazing qualities that made us fall in love with Bernedoodles. They were calm, gentle, loving, and easy to train. Oh, and did I mention their coloring was PHENOMENAL? When Minka comes into heat this next time around, we are going to do everything we can to make this breeding happen.

Suki & Winston

Suki has bounced back beautifully from her last litter and has been deemed fit for another. That’s great news because her puppies are INCREDIBLE! Suki is our smallest mama and gives us puppies that are around 40-50 lbs and perfect for someone looking for a mini/medium sized Bernedoodle! Her puppies will also be F1b meaning they are 75% Poodle and the best for less shedding and mild allergies. Suki’s puppies are smart, playful, loyal, and perfect for snuggling!

Mae & Conley

While Mae’s last Bernedoodle litter was amazing, we decided to pair her with Conley for a purebred Bernese Mountain Dog litter. We couldn’t be more excited! Mae and Conley both exude stunning desirable features in a Bernese Mountain Dog and should pass on their clean genetics to their offspring. The puppies will be an impressive size and should have the calm, loving temperament of their parents. These puppies will be AKC registerable.

How the Waiting List Works

If you are interested in a future puppy; but aren’t sure how the Waiting list works, I’m happy to explain it!

Joining the Waiting List means you’ve placed a deposit of $400 (plus $33 tax) to reserve a spot in line for picking a puppy from the next litter. When the puppies are born, we’ll start contacting those on the waiting list in order of when deposits were placed.

It’s that simple!

Now, deposits are not refundable but they can be transferred to another litter or future litter if desired before the litter is born.

The advantages of getting on the waiting list early are:

  • You get to watch the puppies grow

  • You won’t miss out on a puppy

  • You have more puppies to choose from

  • You’ll have more time to prepare and learn about raising a puppy

If you have any questions about the waiting list, don’t hesitate to ask!
